Some look forward to it, others dread it but there is no doubt about it…summer is here ☀️
During these hot summer days it’s important to give our skin a little extra care and attention ❤️
We have rounded up our 5 essential skincare tips to keep your skin feeling its best all summer long✨
🌞 SWITCH TO A LIGHT-WEIGHT MOISTURIZER
While you might use heavier creams and moisturizers in winter, in summer they can make your skin feel greasy and sticky.
Switching to a lightweight moisturizer can help your skin breathe more easily in hot & humid weather, while still giving it all the hydration it needs. Look for non-comedogenic water or gel based moisturizers, as they absorb into skin quickly and aren’t overly rich.
🌞INCORPORATE ANTIOXIDANTS IN TO YOUR ROUTINE
Antioxidants help keep skin firm, stimulate blood flow, and encourage skin cell regeneration, as well as help combat hyper-pigmentation, dark spots, and wrinkles.
Try to include products in your daily regimen that are infused with antioxidants. Antioxidants in skincare, like Vitamin A and C, fight skin damaging free radicals that are caused by excess sun exposure.
🌞MAKE SURE YOUR SPF GAME IS ON POINT
Sun protection is crucial to skin health. The most important skin care tip, especially in summer, is: never forget to wear sunscreen.
Dermatologists recommend at least SPF 30 or higher on all exposed skin. Sunscreen shields our skin from harmful UV rays and the subsequent damage. Depending on how much time you plan to spend under the sun, remember to reapply your sunscreen every two hours for lasting protection.
Naturally, our skin produces more sweat and oil during summer, which can lead to breakouts and skin irritation. Gently exfoliating your skin 1-2x a week can help remove dead skin cells, purify pores, even out skin tone.
Make sure to not over-exfoliate your skin. One to two times a week is all you need to achieve clean, glowing skin.
🌞ADD SKIN SUPPORTIVE SUPPLEMENTS TO YOUR DIET
During summer our skin is faced with fluctuating temperatures from hot and humid outside to cold and dry inside, essentially wreaking havoc on our skin.
Adding skin supportive supplements to our daily diet can help hydrate, nourish, and condition our skin from the inside out.
